What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for someone who candemonstrate:

  • Experience supporting children with complex SEND needs in an educational setting, as a Teaching Assistant or in an equivalent role.

  • An NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or an equivalent qualification, in line with EYFS framework requirements)Check early years qualifications - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

  • Specialist training and/or experience in a key area of SEND, such as:Communication and interaction; cognition and learning;SEMH;sensory and/or physical needs.

  • Experience of working with primary-aged pupils.

  • The ability toidentify, implement and reviewappropriateinterventionsso pupils can meet their EHC plan outcomes and/or personal targets.

  • Confidence in coaching, modelling practice and supporting the development of staff.

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to keeping children safe.

  • A collaborative approach, working in partnership with teaching staff, other professionals, and external agencies/voluntary and service providers.

  • The ability to lead a hub/room provision, working directly with a group of pupils with SEND, and to plan for and deliver/support a curriculum that meets a range of needs.
