What skills and experience we're looking for
- Has excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- Is reflective and solution focused
- Can work calmly under pressure and to adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances/situations
- Has a proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils with SEND.
- Is experienced in leading and developing inclusive practice across a school.
- Has the highest expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour
- Has experience of coordinating annual reviews and managing EHCP processes.
- Has experience writing responses to EHCP consultations and liaising effectively with Local Authority SEND teams and external agencies.
- Has a secure understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, safeguarding requirements and current SEND legislation having a SENDCo qualification.
- Can confidently analyse data, monitor provision and evaluate impact.
- Is able to coach, support and inspire colleagues through professional development and modelling excellent practice.
- Builds positive and trusting relationships with pupils, families, staff and external professionals.
- Brings energy, creativity, resilience and a genuine passion for inclusion.
- Understands the importance of wellbeing for both pupils and staff.
- Is creative, flexible and can work to deadlines.

Overstone Primary School is a traditional, successful and expanding one-form entry primary school, currently with 159 pupil on roll ranging from 4-11 years old. The school is situated in the highly desirable rural village of Overstone, Northamptonshire, with easy access to the A45 and A43. Our well-motivated pupils leave the school having enjoyed academic and extra-curricular success, along with positive behaviour and attitudes. We received a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted in June 2017.
