SENDCo & Resource Base Teacher job summary

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, ambitious and experienced qualified teacher who holds a SENDCo qualification, or is willing to train as a SENDCo, with responsibility for teaching in our Resource Base.

Our SENDCo & Resource base teacher will be an experienced teacher and have a strong understanding of how children learn. They will be confident in how to support children with a wide range of needs and be able to support other staff to overcome barriers to learning. Our SENDCo will be part of the senior leadership team, enabling them to contribute to the wider school.

We would like someone to join our team who:

  • Models and promotes our school’s Christian values;
  • Has an ability to foster effective relationships with pupils, parents, class teachers and stakeholders;
  • Has the drive and vision to further develop our Resource Base;
  • Is an experienced qualified classroom teacher or existing SENDCo;
  • Has experience of working with children with a wide range of special educational needs;
  • Has a sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice in relation to both mainstream and resource base settings;
  • Has leadership experience or is an aspiring leader.
