  • Support colleagues and lead professional development, through example, support and INSET, drawing on external expertise where necessary
  • Ensure that ECTS are adequately supported in responding to pupils with SEND
  • Work with SLT to develop plans of support and intervention, leading to effective programmes and support class teachers and teaching assistants in the implementation of these

  • Develop systems for colleagues to monitor and record progress made by pupils with SEND towards the achievement of outcomes set in pupil support plans and Education and Health Care Plans.
  • Review Education and Health Care plans and support plans with parents, pupils and teachers and agree and communicate new outcomes.

  • Work with parents to develop an understanding of a range of SEND needs and strategies which can be used to support pupils.
  • Work with external agencies to add evidence towards Education and Health Care Plans in preparation for request to assess.
  • Apply for additional funding and support, organise and chair reviews where necessary regarding EHCPs.
