Senior Executive Assistant to Headteacher job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our high-performing school community as a Senior Executive Assistant to Headteacher at Fortismere School. Fortismere is a high-attaining, mixed foundation secondary school in the heart of Muswell Hill, North London, with a strong tradition of excellence. Our school vision is one which sees education, and the opportunities we make available, as having the potential to transform the lives of our young people.

The Headteacher is looking to appoint a proactive, highly skilled, and discreet executive professional on a Permanent basis. In this pivotal role, you will act as the strategic right-hand to the Headteacher, managing the daily operations of the Headteacher’s office, driving key strategic projects outlined in the School Improvement Plan (SIP), and creating vital executive bandwidth for the leadership team.

You will act as a critical bridge between the Headteacher, the Senior Leadership Team, the staff body, trade unions, and the wider school community. If you thrive in an active secondary school environment, possess high emotional intelligence, and are passionate about school improvement, wellbeing, and strategic administration, we would love to hear from you.

The Successful Candidate Will:

Be an exceptional executive gatekeeper and strategic partner, capable of anticipating leadership needs and managing complex priorities.

Possess high emotional intelligence, tact, and discretion when dealing with sensitive HR, trade union, and stakeholder matters.

Be confident in distilling complex school data into visual, actionable dashboards for executive decision-making.

Have proven experience managing social media and digital communications, promoting our "Ambitious for Every Child" vision.

Be organised, adaptable, maintain professional composure under pressure, and be deeply committed to staff wellbeing and safeguarding.

We Can Offer:

A friendly, dynamic work environment and a supportive leadership team.

Local Government Pension Scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, Season Ticket Loan, Tech scheme, and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).

Continuous professional development (CPD) and opportunities for strategic growth.

Happy and confident students who enjoy being at school.

A committed Governing Body and an experienced, dedicated leadership team.
