Senior SEND Officer
Grade H: £29,540 – £33,143 FTE (Schools Support Staff Pay Scale)
Full Time – 37 hours per week, 43 weeks per year
Working hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:00, Friday 08:00 –15:30
Staying until 17:30 on a Wednesday when required for training.

About the Role
This is a key leadership role in our SEND team, responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and maintaining the highest standards of administration and support for our students with additional needs.
Working closely with the SEND & Inclusion Lead and Senior Leadership Team, you will help shape and deliver the school’s SEND provision strategy, contributing to whole-school improvement while ensuring every student has the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the SEND administrative team, ensuring efficient processes and high-quality outcomes.
- Oversee all aspects of the EHCP review process, provision mapping, PEPs, consultations, and referrals.
- Liaise with families, staff, external professionals, and the Local Authority to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate SEND records and documentation, in line with statutory guidance.
- Deliver training and ongoing support to staff on SEND procedures and compliance.
- Support key processes such as access arrangements, tribunal preparation, and data analysis.
- Contribute strategically to the development of inclusive practice and school improvement initiatives.
We are looking for someone with:
- A strong background in SEND administration and compliance, preferably in a school or education setting.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- The ability to lead a team and manage a busy workload with competing priorities.
- A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for improving outcomes for young people with SEND.
