Site Lettings Assistant job summary
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to become one of the founding team members at River Academy?
The Site Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all operational matters relating to lettings at River Academy are dealt with proactively and that our customers and local community receive excellent customer service when using the school facilities.
The school has recently opened to 187 students and this will rise to 1,200 11-18 students and an additional resource base of 35 students when full. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a small and dedicated school team, to get to know our very first cohort of students and to help them through their learning journey at the school to achieve their potential.
In the early years, we are looking for staff who are willing to be flexible to support the needs of students, and other stakeholders, and to meet the operational needs of the school. The lettings will generally happen in evenings, at weekends and over holiday periods.
The successful candidate will be:
- Flexible and sensitive to the needs of a wide range of users with often varied needs.
- Knowledgeable in the areas of Legislation and Regulations relating to all aspects of site management e.g. to fire, health and safety, Legionella, security, COSHH and Safeguarding.
- IT literate, able to use computer-based packages to track compliance and converse with internal and external stakeholders.
- Enthusiastic and pro-active, keen to be involved and to support us in providing our students with a learning environment in which they can take pride.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in customer service.
- The ability to develop positive and caring relationships with staff and customers.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within a school or college setting.
- Knowledge of, and experience in, health and safety.
- A high level of professionalism, with respect for others, and a positive attitude towards the day to day operational workload..
- A commitment to their own personal development.

About the School
River Academy is a new state-of-the-art, purpose-built secondary school which will be serving the need for additional school places in the Reading area. Based in Richfield Avenue, the buildings contains specialist teaching facilities in all areas of the curriculum including a wonderful hall, drama studio and sports studio.
River Academy has high expectations for all students and a firm focus on academic excellence and participation ingrained in our every action. When full, the school will serve 1,200 11-18 year old students of all abilities and backgrounds. In addition, we will operate an Additional Resource base of 35 students for students with moderate learning difficulties.
