What skills and experience we're looking for
Wycombe High School is seeking to appoint someone with a 'can do' attitude to join our Site Services team, due to the forthcoming retirement of one of the team members. Experience of working in an educational environment would be desirable, but is not essential.
The Site Services Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining the school’s facilities, ensuring a safe, clean and conducive environment for learning. This role involves a variety of tasks including site maintenance, key-holder duties and supporting the overall functionality of the school premises.
The successful candidate will undertake general porterage duties, including deliveries, moving furniture and equipment within the school, plus setting up for various events and de-rigging.
They will be able to undertake minor repairs and maintenance of fixtures, fittings, buildings and the site. Training will be given for the postholder to drive the school minibus. The full job description can be found on our website.
The characteristics that we are looking for include:

Responsible and trustworthy, as the postholder will be a keyholder
The ability to undertake minor repairs and maintenance of fixtures and fittings onsite
A hands-on approach, able to operate systems such as building management system, heating, hot water, cooling, lighting, Paxton controlled automated gates, CCTV, and requests via the Helpdesk
Good interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with staff, visitors and contractors across the site
Ability to relate well to adults and young people
A shared approach to problem-solving skills and achieving goals
Proactive and able to use initiative
Experience of working in a busy, people-based environment
Planning and organising skills

Wycombe High School is a girls’ selective state academy school with 1304 students on roll, of whom around 400 are in the Sixth Form. Each year 192 girls are admitted into Year 7. All students are assigned to a vertical tutor group consisting of about 21 students; usually three students from each year. group There are six houses with 10 tutor groups in each house. Our school is part of the Wycombe High School Academies Trust.
The school has educated girls of High Wycombe for over a hundred years and is very highly regarded in the local and wider community. There is a strong and shared sense of community and collective pride, built on core values. Parental support is strong. We have excellent links with other local schools, colleges and universities.
