Could you help change children’s lives?
This is an exciting opportunity to join St Martin’s C of E Primary School as we establish an innovative new inclusion provision designed to help children with additional needs thrive within mainstream education.
The purpose of the provision is to provide specialist, short- and longer-term support that enables pupils with additional needs to successfully access, engage with and flourish within mainstream education. All work within the provision should promote independence, reduce barriers to learning and maximise opportunities for sustained inclusion.
Working alongside our newly appointed Specialist Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and other pupils who need additional support to access learning successfully. Together, you will create a nurturing, structured and ambitious environment where children can develop confidence, resilience and the skills they need to flourish in school.
This is much more than a traditional Learning Support Assistant role. It is an opportunity to become part of a specialist team, helping to shape an exciting new provision from the very beginning and making a genuine difference to children’s educational journeys.
We would love to hear from you if you:
• Have experience of supporting children with SEND, or a passion for developing expertise in this area.
• Believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.
• Build warm, trusting relationships with children whilst maintaining high expectations.
• Can support pupils to regulate their emotions, develop independence and engage positively in learning.
• Are patient, resilient and calm under pressure.
• Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a professional team.
• Are reflective, organised and committed to helping children make excellent progress.
• Have a positive outlook, a good sense of humour and a genuine enthusiasm for inclusion.
In return, we can offer:
• The opportunity to help establish an exciting new specialist provision.
• Close professional support from an experienced Specialist Teacher, SENDCo and Leadership Team.
• High-quality professional development and training.
• A welcoming, friendly and supportive staff team.
• Wonderful children who enjoy learning.
• A strong commitment to staff wellbeing.
• Excellent resources and extensive school grounds.
• Opportunities to develop specialist knowledge and skills within SEND and inclusion.
At St Martin’s C of E Primary School, we are committed to inspiring every child to be the best they can be. Inclusion is central to everything we do, and we are looking for someone who shares our belief that every child can flourish with the right support.
Visits to the school are warmly encouraged. We would be delighted to meet you and show you what makes St Martin’s such a special place to work.
