What skills and experience we're looking for

Hours: 35 hours per week, 41 weeks per year

Area: To cover Exeter Trust Schools (some travel to Plymouth also required).

Closing: Monday 23rd June 2025

Interviews: Virtual Interviews across multiple days/times in June/July. Successful candidates invited to face to face interview Thursday 17th July 2025.

Start: Required September 2025 start.

We are seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant in Speech and Language to join our innovative and passionate trust wide speech and language service. This is a unique opportunity to work across a range of primary and secondary schools, supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) to thrive both academically and emotionally.

In this role, you will:

  • Work under the guidance of our Lead Speech and Language Therapist and SaLT Assistant to deliver targeted, evidence-based interventions
  • Support staff in creating communication-friendly classrooms where all learners can participate, express themselves and feel valued
  • Help identify needs, monitor progress and implement support plans
  • Build positive relationships with families and the wider team to ensure inclusive and joined-up provision
