Speech and Language Assistant and Midday Supervisor job summary
We are looking for a part time Speech and Language Assistant and Midday Supervisor to join us in January, for a temporary maternity cover position. There is the possibility the role may become permanent in the future.
The role will involve working alongside the school’s Inclusion Leader to deliver a programme of speech and language support to individuals and small groups aged 4-11, based on guidance provided by Speech and Language Therapists and other specialist teachers. Whilst experience in this field would be beneficial, training can be provided. Clear spoken English and good communication skills are essential for the role.
All of our support staff also take part in supervising lunchtimes, which helps to build relationships with children outside of the classroom and provide continuity for children at key transition points in the school day.
Commitment to safeguarding
Powell Corderoy Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We follow Safer Recruitment guidelines for all staff appointments. An enhanced DBS vetting check is required for all staff prior to the start of employment.
In line with KCSIE, we carry out an online search as part of our due diligence on all shortlisted candidates. This search is to help identify any information publicly available online which might need to be explored with the applicant at interview.
