Teacher in Charge job summary

Brompton and Sawdon Primary School is a happy, thriving, small village school, surrounded by endless learning opportunities. We are seeking to appoint an experienced and inspirational Teacher in Charge to join our dedicated staff team. If you are forward-thinking, with the passion and commitment to build on the great things happening in school and act as a driver for further improvement, this could be the role for you! This position is available for a September 2022 start, however we are flexible and appreciate that notice periods may dictate a later start.

This exceptional person will share our School Pillars and be an inspirational teacher and leader - able to nurture and develop every child’s unique talent and ability so that they can be the very best that they can be. We also have the same ambition for every member of our staff team. This role would not be suitable for early career teachers.

Although undoubtedly challenging at times, the post will be interesting, varied and exciting - balancing teaching in our mixed Year 4/5/6 class with the opportunity to really develop your strategic leadership skills, something ideal for somebody aspiring to Deputy Headship or Headship. Working within our collaborative, supportive environment, the successful candidate will feel valued and have the opportunity to thrive as both a teacher and leader. This post will also involve subject Leadership – experience of leading English or Maths would be desirable but not essential.
