What skills and experience we're looking for

  • We are looking for a strong practitioner who is confident and skilled in working with learners who have SEMH needs
  • Honours degree or equivalent
  • Qualified Teacher Status preferable, but not essential
  • Experience of working with vulnerable pupils in a mainstream school, preferred
  • Qualification in art / DT
  • Good understanding of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum for Art and Design Technology
  • Good knowledge of DT machinery
  • Good knowledge of health and safety, COSHH and risk assessments
  • Good understanding of working with pupils with SEN / medical or behaviour needs
  • Ability to assess to inform learning
  • Be aspirational
  • Be well organised and planned
  • Have emotional resilience to remain calm under pressure
  • Be empathetic
  • Be a team player
