The Social Sciences department offering health & social care, criminology & sociology can be personified by its welcoming, supportive and driven staff with collaboration, for the benefit of the students, at the heart of the agenda. We have high aspirations and expectations for our students and this can be seen in the standard of work produced and interactions with staff within the department. Student outcomes within the department are rising, and in turn this is embedding the belief, in the students coming through, that they too can achieve highly. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive faculty with space for all, learners and staff alike. At both Key Stage 4 & 5 Health and Social Care students follow the BTEC specification. Our post 16 offer is growing and we currently offer an AQA Sociology A Level as well as WJEC Criminology course.
