This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new from the very beginning. The Works for You programme launches in 2026/27 as a brand‑new offer within Finding Futures, part of The Partnership Trust, a newly established and growing specialist college - the first of its kind in Bath and North East Somerset. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and embedding this innovative pre‑internship programme, contributing to its curriculum, culture and future development, and helping to establish a strong foundation for years to come. Being the first year of the programme, Works for You offers the chance to innovate, reflect and grow, working collaboratively with colleagues to develop an offer that genuinely meets the needs of learners and local employers.
Works for You will support young people with SEND and EHCPs to develop the skills, confidence and real‑world experience they need to progress towards supported internships and future employment outcomes. The curriculum is ambitious and highly practical, bringing together employability skills, enterprise, PSHE, English and Maths, alongside a strong emphasis on real‑world independence such as money and financial awareness, independent travel and confident access to the local community; these elements are complemented by high‑quality, carefully constructed work experience placements that are designed to progress young people towards their future employment goals. The post holder will play an active role in engaging with employers and external partners to facilitate meaningful work‑based learning opportunities, helping young people to gain insight into different industries, workplace expectations and career pathways.
The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative staff team, united by a shared passion for inclusion and a strong belief in the potential of every young person. Staff at Finding Futures work closely together, drawing on each other’s expertise and creativity to remove barriers, support and challenge, celebrate progress and enable learners to achieve amazing outcomes.
This is a rewarding role for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education, adaptable and resourceful in their approach, and proactive in seeking out and creating opportunities that enable each young person to succeed; it offers the chance to work closely with a diverse cohort of inspiring young people, supporting them to understand the world of work, recognise their own strengths, develop independence, build confidence and resilience, and take meaningful and life-changing steps towards their future career. Founded on the strong belief that with partnership and collaboration we can improve the outcomes for young people, The Partnership Trust is proud to be a diverse family of schools consisting of special schools, village schools, first schools and primary schools based in the city of Bath and beyond.
With origins lying in Fosse Way Special School, The Partnership Trust was formed in 2011 to enable close collaboration between schools across the area and was characterised by a diverse range of schools at different stages of their development journey. The Trust grew to include primary and first schools across the Bath and Frome area and the development of a new special school. In 2018, driven by a desire to build close collaboration between schools across the Bath and Mendip areas, The Partnership Trust joined with The Comenius Trust, a Trust formed in 2016 with a lead school of Weston All Saints Primary School, a large primary school in Bath.
The Partnership Trust is built upon the principles of equity, trust and respect, operating within a culture of shared challenge and support. As a Trust we do not seek to make all schools the same and celebrate each school’s unique characteristics, heritage and community. We are committed to providing an outstanding education for all of our pupils through an unrelenting focus on every child and their individual progress and attainment, pairing high quality teaching with the widest possible opportunities.
In order to enable each school to focus their time and resources on teaching, our role is to collaborate and support; provide strong and flexible shared services; put in place high quality school improvement and to have a robust, effective and transparent governance system. Each school retains oversight of their own day to day management but operates within the shared values and commonly agreed practices of the Trust.
With a firm belief that every employee no matter what their role, contributes towards the quality of the children’s learning experience, staff benefit from support from colleagues within the Trust as well as being encouraged, as part of an outward looking organisation, share experiences and good practice and maintain networks within and outside of the Trust.
