What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a teaching assistant who:
- has a passion for providing tailored support to students with varying needs, both with groups and on a one-to-one basis.
- works collaboratively with teachers to support the social and emotional development of pupils, creating a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- will assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
- will be responsible for carrying out interventions in relation to IEPs.
- will monitor and report on pupil progress, contributing to assessment and IEP reviews.
- will assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources.
- values strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- will provide lunchtime supervision.
- will uphold and promote the Christian ethos of the school.
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant qualification in education or childcare.
- Evidence of professional development relevant to supporting learning.
- Experience of working with and successfully delivering support and interventions to children in a primary setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and learning processes.
- Effective behaviour management skills including knowledge of de-escalation and self-regulation techniques.

GCSE/ O Level/ EquivalentEnglish Grade C/ Grade 4 or above Mathematics Grade C/ Grade 4 or above.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of supporting KS1 and KS2 children.
- Experience of supporting children with special educational needs.
- Experience of working within a Church of England School.
- A good understanding of SEND and strategies for inclusive teaching.
- Competency in using IT for educational purposes.
- A willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
