Teaching Assistant job summary

Southtown Primary School is a welcoming school who aim to nurture, encourage and develop our students throughout their primary education. We are seeking two enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible Teaching Assistants to join our warm and welcoming team. These are permanent roles for 32.5 hours per week, term-time plus one week (39 weeks) per year.

This role requires a patient, dedicated, positive individual who is passionate about working with children.

Experience in a similar role and flexibility to work across the school would be a distinct advantage.

Our ideal applicant will:

Be an excellent practitioner, able to make learning enjoyable

Be able to meet the needs of children, including those with a variety of Special Educational Needs, under the direction of a teacher or HLTA

Be able to form positive relationships with children, staff and parents 

Have high expectations of behaviour, effort and attitude and the necessary strategies to promote these qualities 

Have recent experience of working in a primary school, knowledge of the National Curriculum and the standards required by the new assessment framework

Enjoy working as part of a team
