Teaching Assistant – Level 1
Salary: Band 4, SCP6
Hours: 37 hours per week (8:30-4:30pm Mon-Thurs and 8:30-4pm Fri), term time only
Start date: February 3rd 2025
Post temporary for one year to cover maternity leave
The Academy Council are looking to appoint a highly motivated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team from February 2025 to cover a maternity leave. The post will involve working in our EYFS. The successful candidate must have experience of working with children with additional needs, including those with limited communication and those with social and communication difficulties and an awareness of the impact that this can have on children’s presentation and behaviour. Experience of working restoratively with children who have difficulties regulating their behaviour is essential as is the ability to work independently and feedback accurately and concisely to class teachers.
Experience of using communication boards is desirable.
As the post is based in EYFS, the successful candidate must also hold a full and relevant qualification to work in Early Years. Please see the list of qualifications attached.
GCSE in both English and Mathematics at Grades A-C or the equivalent are also essential. A current first aid certificate is desirable for the post as is recent experience of Read, Write Inc Phonics programme.
Early years qualifications achieved in the United Kingdom - GOV.UK
The ability to work independently, feedback accurately and concisely to class teachers will be essential.
