What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent
  • Confidence in implementing strategies to support the child’s learning and development
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Be hard working and able to use your own initiative
  • The ability to enable all children, as individuals, to thrive in your care
  • An understanding of autism and experience in supporting a child with this
  • Experience of working in an educational setting with SEN children
  • An understanding of P Levels / PIVATS
  • Able to set clear boundaries and have experience of a range of behaviour management strategies

Further details about the role

The position would involve supporting a child in a wheelchair to access the school building and provide support during breaktimes, as well as delivering a daily physio programme (utilising training from the physio). In addition, support would involve encouraging, prompting and facilitating the child’s access to their work. The child, to be supported has an Education, Health and Care Plan and therefore targeted work will be completed on their next steps.
