What skills and experience we're looking for
The successful candidate will:
Be a team player and flexible in approach
Understand the role of a Teaching Assistant and be able to communicate effectively with pupils and adults alike
Support the aims and ethos of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School
Support children’s learning and general development across the school as required
Work with either individuals or groups of children who are experiencing difficulties with emotional literacy or other aspects of school or home life
Establish supportive, caring and secure relationships with children and parents / carers
Develop knowledge of a range of learning and behavioural support needs, to plan, devise and implement programmes to help develop children’s emotional literacy skills and well-being
Be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or have other qualifications which show a depth of learning
Have experience of the classroom environment, supporting children with additional needs
Have good literacy and organisational skills
Know how to make learning exciting, engaging and interesting as well as the ability to enthuse and motivate pupils at all levels
Be willing (subject to training) to administer medication, provide intimate care, manual handling and first aid.

Teaching Assistant Salary: £22,737 (C3) - £23,893 (C6) pro rata. Actual salary: £14,649 (C3) - £15,393 (C6)
Midday Assistant Salary: £22,366 (B2) pro rata. Actual salary £1,310 (B2).
Contract: Permanent Part-Time 30 hours (including 2.5 hours Midday Assistant), term time only
