Teaching Assistant

Levels 1, 2 and 3 considered (4 posts available)

Salary range:

Teaching Assistant Level 1 – Band C, scp 4-5 (£19,344 - £19,650 per annum)

Teaching Assistant Level 2 – Band D, scp 6-7 (£21,943 – £22,292 per annum)

Teaching Assistant Level 3 – Band E, scp 8-11 (£22,648 - £23,761 per annum)

We are looking for passionate Teaching Assistants with diverse experience levels to join our committed Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to make a significant impact on the lives of students requiring additional support.

We wish to expand our team of Teaching Assistants and will consider Teaching Assistants at Levels 1, 2 or 3.

Selection will be based on current qualifications, skills and experience fitting to the appropriate level.

The Team:

The person appointed will join an experienced and innovative SEND team, supporting students with a range of special educational needs across the entire school.

You:

The applicant must have recent and relevant experience in a similar role (according to Teaching Assistant level applied for) or be a qualified teacher. Please see supporting document for further information.

TA Level 1

Ideally the applicant should have recent and relevant experience in a similar role or experience in the pastoral care of young people with SEND in another sector, but this is not essential. You will be working with students, providing additional support to them during school hours. Assisting the learning of Key Stage 3 and 4 students, you will be working with a variety of students in the classroom, as well as on a one-to-one basis when required.

The post will provide a professional development opportunity for anyone considering a career in teaching or working with young people.

TA Level 2

The applicant should have recent and relevant experience in a similar role or experience in the pastoral care of young people with SEND in another sector. You will be working with students providing additional support to them during school hours. Assisting the learning of Key Stage 3 and 4 students, you will be working with a variety of students in the classroom, as well as on a one-to-one basis when required.

The post will provide a professional development opportunity for anyone considering a career in teaching or working with young people.

TA Level 3

The successful applicant will have substantial and recent experience supporting young people with SEND, ideally within an educational setting. You will play a key role in assisting the learning and development of students across Key Stages 3 and 4, working both within the classroom and on a one-to-one basis as required. In addition to supporting academic progress, you will provide tailored pastoral care and may be required to assist with intimate care for students who need this support.

This role demands a proactive approach to promoting inclusion and independence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals. It offers a valuable professional development opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their career in education or specialist SEND support.
