Teaching Coach & Professional Mentor – Mathematics job summary

As we move into the next phase of our school improvement journey, we are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our team as a Professional Mentor and Teaching Coach for Mathematics. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving teaching excellence, supporting colleagues at all stages of their careers, and contributing to improved outcomes for all pupils.
Working closely with teachers and leaders across the academy, you will provide high-quality instructional coaching, professional development, and mentoring, helping to develop outstanding classroom practice and a culture of continuous improvement. Alongside your coaching responsibilities, you will work within the Mathematics department to model excellent teaching and support curriculum development and pedagogical innovation.
Overall purpose of the post:
To work alongside the Faculty Lead and Senior leadership team to deliver the vision of Ambition and Excellence for All
Develop the practice of Early Career Teachers and trainee maths teachers through instructional coaching
Plan and lead maths CPD and training
Carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with Academy policies, under the direction of the Principal
Meet the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards
