Welfare Assistant job summary

About this Role

We are seeking a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Welfare Assistant to join our school team to cover a maternity leave.

This is an important role within our school, supporting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of our pupils during the lunchtime period. You will supervise children in the dining hall, playground and around the school site, helping to create a positive, enjoyable and safe environment where children can thrive. The role involves encouraging positive behaviour, supporting play, building positive relationships with pupils and responding appropriately to any incidents or welfare needs that may arise.

The successful candidate will be a positive role model with excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to supporting children. You will share our high expectations for behaviour, wellbeing and safeguarding, and be able to work effectively as part of a dedicated school team.

Hours of Work
2 hours per day over the school lunchtime period, term time only (38 weeks per year) for a fixed term period to cover a maternity leave.
