Whole School Attendance Officer (Mat Cover) job summary

Hours: 36.5 hours per week

Contract: Fixed Term for a year (Maternity Cover), Term Time Only

Pay scale: NSO1 SCP (23-25) £34,434 - £36,363 (FTE)

Actual Salary: £30,240 - £31,934 (pro rata)

We are seeking a dedicated Whole School Attendance Officer to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring all our students can thrive through consistent attendance.

  • A strong understanding of attendance regulations and safeguarding policies?
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills?
  • The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff?
  • Experience working in a school or similar environment?
  • Confidence in using IT systems and software for data management and reporting?

Duties to include but not exclusive to:

  • Monitor and analyse attendance records across the school to identify patterns and areas for improvement.
  • Work with students and families to address barriers to attendance, offering support and guidance.
  • Liaise with teachers, senior leaders, and external agencies to ensure effective attendance interventions.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce regular attendance reports for school leadership.

All school staff have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be expected to follow Keeping Children Safe in Education, the school's safeguarding and child protection policies, and all relevant school procedures.

You will also be expected to maintain confidentiality, follow health and safety requirements, support equality and inclusion, maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality, and contribute positively to the school's values, vision and wider community.
