Workshop Technician job summary

We are seeking to appoint a Workshop Technician to work closely with the subject teachers in the Design Technology department, ensuring that students are supported to achieve their very best, and that the working environment is safe, well-resourced and operating efficiently. Experience of using band saws, circular saws and general workshop equipment would be desirable.

Your main areas of responsibility will include:

Cutting and sizing materials

Organising the distribution and repair of equipment

Advising students on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment

Supporting students in material preparation

Safe disposal of hazardous waste.

Qualifications required for this post are 4 GCSEs, Grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) or equivalent, including English and Maths or for those not possessing these qualifications experience in a similar environment must be demonstrated.
