Lakenham Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated, and caring individual to join our thriving Before and After School Care as the Wrap Around Care Leader. 

Our well-established and popular provision offers high-quality childcare for children attending the school, operating 7:30am–9:00am (Before School Care) and 3:30pm–6:00pm (After School Care). We are proud of our commitment to creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where children can relax, learn, and have fun. 


About the Role 

As Wrap Around Care lead, you will lead a dedicated team to deliver outstanding childcare. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the provision, maintaining high standards of care, and providing a stimulating and enjoyable experience for all children. 


We are looking for someone who: 

  • Has a warm, caring nature and a genuine passion for working with children 
  • Is flexible, organised, and proactive 
  • Can build strong relationships with children, staff, parents, and school leadership 
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and a good sense of humour 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Plan and organise engaging activities suitable for a wide range of ages 
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children 
  • Maintain accurate records and manage bookings via the school’s online system 
  • Lead and support staff, including organising and delivering team meetings 
  • Contribute to staff development and performance improvement 
  • Liaise effectively with parents, school staff, and the Senior Leadership Team 
  • Monitor staffing levels and ensure appropriate supervision at all times 
  • Support and develop high-quality provision and quality assurance standards 


Essential Criteria 

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Ability to maintain accurate records 
  • Like children and have a good sense of humour and are patient 
  • Experience working collaboratively with staff, parents, and children 
  • Experience of working with children and understand what types of games and activities they like 


Desirable Criteria 

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent) 
  • Level 3 qualification in Play (or equivalent) 
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and policies 
  • Confidence in leading a team and supporting staff development 
  • Ability to use initiative to enhance learning environments and activities 
  • Experience in preparing reports and attending management meetings 
  • Have a understanding of food safety regulations
