What skills and experience we're looking for

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and caring individual to lead our new wraparound care provision from September/October 2026.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation and smooth running of the provision, ensuring children enjoy a safe, engaging and nurturing environment at the end of the school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operation of the wraparound provision.
  • Plan and organise a range of engaging enrichment activities.
  • Supervise and support pupils from Reception to Year 6.
  • Promote positive behaviour in accordance with the school's Behaviour Policy.
  • Prepare and serve light snacks and refreshments.
  • Maintain registers and relevant records.
  • Liaise with parents and carers at collection time.
  • Report any safeguarding, behavioural or medical concerns to senior leaders.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are set up and cleared away safely each day.
  • Support the school in developing and promoting the provision.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience of working with primary-aged children.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage children's behaviour positively and consistently.
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the provision.

Desirable

  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Food Hygiene qualification.
  • Experience of breakfast club, after-school club or childcare provision.

Wraparound Care Leader

Grade 5 Hours: 3.15pm–5:45pm, Monday to Friday, term time only (12½ hours per week) Responsible to: Headteacher

Job Purpose

To lead the day-to-day operation our wraparound provision ensuring a safe, stimulating, inclusive and enjoyable environment for pupils attending the school's wraparound provision.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Organisation

  • Lead the daily operation of the wraparound provision.
  • Plan and organise engaging activities that promote children's social, emotional and physical development.
  • Ensure resources and equipment are prepared before sessions and stored safely afterwards.
  • Maintain registers and attendance records.

Childcare and Supervision

  • Supervise and support pupils from Reception to Year 6.
  • Promote positive behaviour in line with the school's Behaviour Policy.
  • Foster an inclusive, welcoming environment where all children feel safe and valued.
  • Ensure the welfare and safeguarding of all pupils at all times.

Communication

  • Liaise effectively with parents and carers at collection time.
  • Communicate any concerns, accidents, incidents or safeguarding matters promptly to senior leaders.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure consistency of approach.

Food Preparation and Hygiene

  • Prepare and serve light snacks and refreshments.
  • Ensure food hygiene procedures are followed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the provision.

General

  • Ensure the provision complies with school policies and procedures.
  • Attend relevant training and meetings as required.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post.
