What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a playleader to join our newly developed wraparound team.

We have two positions available which could be combined for one successful candidate.

The posts would be ideal for someone interested in working with children and wanting further experience.

We are looking for a play leader to facilitate a breakfast club and after school club provision 5 mornings per week, for around 20 pupils per day, within a team of two. The role will include setting up games and activities, engaging with children to ensure play is positive and enriching, providing a safe and nurturing environment, organising food deliveries and preparing food for pupils.

Main responsibilities of the role are:

  • To use and record registers to manage attendance and food orders.

  • Supervision, organisation and safeguarding (including first aid and food hygiene) of children at the clubs.

  • Set up, organise, manage and clear away resources and materials.

  • Organise and be active in developing interactive activities for the children during play and ensuring children are positively engaging in play.

  • Encourage and facilitate positive social experiences for children.

  • To encourage dining arrangements that promote an orderly and pleasant meal service for pupils.

  • To assist as required to ensure a calm, clean environment.

The successful candidate will be friendly, have good communication skills as well as the ability to adapt their approach to suit the needs, different personalities and interests of the children. We are looking for a team member who can:

  • Actively engage with pupils within activities.

  • Be passionate about making a difference to every child.

  • Value a team working approach and be keen to contribute and share your skills with colleagues

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build on and maintain strong relationships with the school community

  • Bring ideas and direction to develop the quality of the wraparound care clubs
