Assistant Head Teachers (x2) job summary
1. Assistant Head Teacher for Inclusion & Provision
A strategic leadership role focused on ensuring exceptional outcomes for pupils through high-quality SEND provision, inclusion and preparation for adulthood.
Key responsibilities include:
- Whole-school lead for inclusion, SEND provision and EHCP compliance
- Strategic lead for communication across the school
- Lead for Preparation for Adulthood
- Oversight of external professionals and multi-agency working
- Strategic support for the primary phase
- Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibilities
- Staff appraisal, coaching and professional development
- 20% teaching commitment
We are looking for a leader who can:
- Champion inclusion and personalised learning
- Lead and develop others through coaching and collaboration
- Maintain ambitious expectations for every pupil
- Focus on strengths before barriers and enable all pupils to participate and achieve
- Inspire colleagues through creativity, resilience and a commitment to continuous improvement
2. Assistant Head Teacher for Behaviour & Attendance
A strategic leadership role focused on pupil wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and pastoral support, ensuring every pupil is ready to learn and thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Whole-school lead for behaviour and pupil support
- Strategic lead for attendance and compliance
- Leadership of the Pastoral Team
- Lead for neurodiversity and pupil voice
- Strategic support for the secondary phase
- Oversight of pupil transport arrangements
- Team Teach Trainer responsibilities
- Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibilities
- Staff appraisal, coaching and professional development
- 20% teaching commitment
We are looking for a leader who can:
- Champion trauma-informed and restorative approaches
- Remove barriers to engagement and participation
- Build strong relationships with pupils, families and professionals
- Promote resilience, aspiration and high expectations
- Lead strategic improvement while keeping pupil wellbeing at the centre of decision-making
