Behaviour Teaching Assistant job summary
We need someone with enthusiasm for all aspects of school life, someone who loves getting involved and somebody who doesn't need to be asked to go the extra mile. In return we offer you the opportunity to contribute to the future of Westminster and the BD3 community.
Our Behaviour Team has been in place for two years and has had a huge impact on behaviour throughout school. Behaviour is always commented on positively by visitors to the school. The team have done so well that, due to the promotion of the current staff, we now have an opportunity to appoint a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to further develop and enhance the provision in school, underneath the leadership of the Behaviour HLTA.
The ideal candidate will have the skills, experience and knowledge to provide behaviour support to the school and to groups of children as well as on an individual basis. This support could be a cooking session with a group of children, it could be an extra PE lesson to help regulate the children, it could be a quiet conversation in the corridor but often it is just a smile at the right time to make the children feel that they are welcome and that they belong with us.
You will be required to effectively support positive behaviour for learning approaches whilst managing challenging pupil behaviour and positive parental engagement, with support from the Behaviour HLTA and SLT, to provide all children (including those who are new to the country, community & school) with the very best possible start to their education ensuring that Everyone is Welcome, Everyone Belongs and Everyone Flourishes, nourished by God’s Love.
You will need
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualification) (essential)
- experience of supporting learning and/or behaviour in a primary school
- good organisation skills
- effective behaviour management skills
**Please note that we may close this recruitment process earlier than closing date stated.
