What skills and experience we're looking for
Deliver the curriculum effectively, ensuring it is appropriately matched to the age, ability and subject specialism of the pupils taught
Plan, prepare and develop high-quality teaching materials and, where appropriate, pastoral provision
Take responsibility and be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of all pupils taught
Demonstrate a secure understanding of pupils' prior learning and individual capabilities, using this knowledge to plan and deliver lessons that build progressively on all pupils' understanding and skills
Have a clear understanding of the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), pupils who are gifted and talented, and those with English as an additional language (EAL), and use a range of effective teaching strategies to engage and support them
Promote high standards of literacy across the curriculum, including the accurate and confident use of spoken English
Where teaching early reading, demonstrate a secure understanding of appropriate and evidence-based approaches, including systematic synthetic phonics
