What the school offers its staff
We have completely restructured the way we deliver the curriculum and made a significant investment in staff development. Teachers have additional time for professional development (½ day per week) learning from each other and developing deep professional knowledge.
We are looking for teachers who are outstanding practitioners. We need staff who are inspiring and motivating for pupils, able to think about learning and deliver it in an interesting and engaging way. We have a strong support package for teachers, including joint PPA time giving opportunities to share ideas; strong, knowledgeable senior leaders who have time out of the classroom to focus on developing teaching and learning, and opportunities to create and refine our own curriculum.
The post is to cover the maternity leave of our Reception teacher. Our Reception building is specifically designed to support delivery of the EYFS curriculum. The Reception cohort is 43 children with an open plan space but have their own teaching areas for each class. The classes are 21/22 children. The curriculum is designed to ensure that children access all areas of learning across the week, have specific teaching in all subject areas and have opportunities to play and explore together and with their teachers.
Would therefore welcome applications from teachers who can start with us and be part of the EYFS team before our teacher starts her maternity leave. This way we can provide a really detailed induction and a smooth transition to the full class teacher role.
The children here are well-behaved, hard-working and eager to learn. The facilities are fantastic with space and equipment readily available. Parents are keen to support the school and are positive about the improvements already being made.
If you really want to have a measurable impact on children’s life chances, Burwell could be the school for you.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
