Tyne and Wear Learning Trust are seeking to appoint an outstanding and enthusiastic School Cook to join their highly successful school kitchen at East Herrington Primary Academy.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Cook to lead the next stage of the development of our school catering provision. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about fresh, healthy and nutritious food and who wants to make a real difference to the experience of our children. You will have the opportunity to bring new ideas, creativity and ambition to our kitchen, developing an appealing and varied menu that encourages children to enjoy healthy eating.
Working alongside the catering team, you will provide leadership, vision and direction, ensuring that meals are prepared and served to a high standard and comply fully with the Government's School Food Standards.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong catering knowledge and experience, with a recognised catering qualification or significant experience leading a catering function.
- Can lead and inspire a team, communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, use initiative and bring fresh, creative ideas to develop our catering provision.
- Is committed to providing healthy, nutritious and appealing meals for children.
- Is organised, proactive and confident, with experience of stock control, ordering and managing the day-to-day demands of a busy catering service.
