What skills and experience we're looking for

Brymore Academy is seeking a compassionate, professional and student-centred Counsellor to join our dedicated team, providing vital emotional health and wellbeing support to our students. The role is focused on helping young people overcome challenges, build resilience and achieve their full potential through the provision of a confidential and ethical counselling service.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide high-quality counselling support to students experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
  • Develop positive therapeutic relationships that promote emotional wellbeing and resilience.
  • Assess needs and deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions using a range of counselling approaches.
  • Manage a caseload of students in line with the ethical framework of a recognised professional body such as BACP, UKCP or NCPS.
  • Work collaboratively with safeguarding, pastoral, SEND and boarding staff to ensure students receive the support they need.
  • Co-ordinate and manage/monitor work of volunteer counsellors.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with GDPR and professional standards.

Promote positive mental health and emotional wellbeing across the academy community.
