About the Post

We are looking to appoint a motivated and inspirational colleague with a passion for transforming the life chances of young people as a Cover Supervisor. Possibly considering a future career in teaching you will be required to supervise and support students who are engaged in learning activities during the short-term or unforeseen absence of their usual class or subject teacher. In addition, our Cover Supervisor team are employed to and administer and supervise daily centralised detentions.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a progressive and forward-thinking environment, alongside exceptional professionals who are passionate about the power of education to shape young people’s lives. You will be based primarily at Twynham School but are likely to work regularly across both of our sites.

Twynham School is a very special place with an excellent reputation both locally and nationally. We are a heavily over-subscribed school where achievement is exceptionally high, students are well-behaved and eager to learn and relationships are very special.

The Grange School is on a rapid school improvement journey and recently achieved a “good” rating at the recent Ofsted inspection in November 2021. Working closely with Twynham School has created the capacity for continuous improvement and this post is one of a number of opportunities to work across both schools, bringing even closer alignment.

There is an energy about our Multi-Academy Trust, Twynham Learning; we are entering an exciting decade for our schools, our MAT and our community and successful applicants can be confident that they will be working in a truly great environment.

This is a truly exceptional opportunity for a talented colleague.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Join our high performing and progressive organisation
  • Take sole responsibility for classes of students on a short-term basis
  • Work with expert teachers to provide exceptional short-term cover for absent staff
  • Work within a supportive team to supervise and administer centralised detentions
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

What we can offer you

  • The opportunity to work with exceptional colleagues and wonderful young people and their families
  • An exceptional CPD offer that could support a colleague into a career in teaching
  • Strong and supportive leadership, who place value on learning beyond the classroom
  • The opportunity to work within Twynham Learning; a progressive multi-academy trust
  • The opportunity to live in one of the most beautiful areas of the South Coast

  • Free on-site parking
  • Automatic membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme
