Exams Officer/ External Visits' Co-ordinator (EVC)/ School Administrator job summary
The Bridge School are seeking to appoint a calm, flexible and positive Exams officer/ External Visits' Co-Ordinator/ School Administrator to work within a friendly office team at The Bridge School to start as soon as possible. The position is for term time plus inset days and 2 additional weeks (41 weeks) 37 hours per week (part time applications will be considered). Working hours Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8.30-16.30, Tuesday 8.30-17.00 and Fridays 8.30-15.30.
This is a grade 13 £22,670- £24,548 Approximate annual gross salary. (Dependent on experience)
The Bridge School, Sedgemoor is one of four Pupil Referral Units commissioned by Somerset Council and Somerset schools. We provide services through a number of centers for students who have a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. All students are referred through their mainstream schools in the Sedgemoor area. The school has three sites, two in Bridgwater and one in a nearby village, Cossington.
The successful applicant will join a highly professional and supportive team that is crucial to the continuing success and smooth running of the school. The successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism, be able to work on their own initiative as well as working as a team member and have a positive and ‘can do’ approach. We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and forward-thinking professional. The successful candidate is expected to provide a comprehensive examination service for the school with overall responsibility for all aspects of planning and organising examinations. In addition, supporting the School Leadership team in assisting with school trips and carrying out general administrative responsibilities
Purpose of Job
To be the primary point of responsibility for all school examinations, school trips and to assist in the efficient and smooth running of the school administration,
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the daily (when applicable), running of examinations.
- Organising exam materials, including question papers, in accordance with regulations.
- Organising the examination rooms.
- Providing a centre timetable to include dates, times, venues and number of candidates.
- Arranging invigilation, including briefing on school procedures.
- Take responsibility of the school trips and oversee the whole planning process
- Liaise with SLT for any trips going off site
- Have primary responsibility for any EVC paperwork and processes related to trips
- Assisting the school office with general administration tasks.
Key skills/experience:
- Experience of using Arboror similar school information management systems
- A background in school exams would be beneficial, but not necessary.
- Strong IT skills
- Strong organisational skills
There will be a requirement to work across the 3 sites for The Bridge School and the other school sites within our partnership of schools.
