St John’s Governors, staff and pupils are seeking to appoint a caring and inspirational leader with a clear vision for the further development of our school, TEAM St John’s. St John's is a larger than average primary and nursery school situated in the small post-industrial town of Ripley, in the borough of Amber Valley, Derbyshire. It is a voluntary controlled Church of England school with a strong commitment to provide a Christian ethos which encompasses spiritual and moral values.

We base everything we do on the Golden Rule -

“Treat others the way YOU want to be treated” Matthew 7 v 12

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a forward-looking, ambitious, and experienced senior leader who is committed to maximising the progress, attainment and learning of all our pupils.
  • Be committed to high standards and expectations for all in our school community embracing and enabling pupils and parents to flourish.
  • Be an excellent communicator within the school and its wider community.
  • Build and further develop on our culture where individuals are encouraged to succeed and be the best they can be and everyone’s contribution is valued as part of St John’s family.
  • Prepare the school for inspection by Ofsted and SIAMS.
  • Be a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
