The Role
We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our school community. In this vital role, you will provide essential support for pupils with physical and medical needs ensuring they can fully participate in school life, feel safe, and achieve their maximum potential.
Key Responsibilities
Medication Management: Safely book in/out, store, and administer standard medication and controlled drugs strictly in line with school policies, Individual Healthcare Plans, and Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans.
Student Care & Personal Support: Assist students with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and changing clothes with dignity and respect.
Health & Welfare Monitoring: Observe, record, and promptly report any changes in a student's condition or circumstances to senior staff, ensuring safety and wellbeing at all times.
First Aid & Pastoral Support: Deliver first aid and emotional care to children who are upset, ill, injured, or require hygiene-related assistance to minimise distress.
Communication & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate written and verbal logs of all medical and support activities in accordance with school procedures.
Professional Development: Stay up to date with all mandatory and role-specific training requirements.

A caring and empathetic approach toward children with diverse physical and medical health needs.
High attention to detail and a strict adherence to safety policies and confidentiality.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Willingness to undergo relevant training (including first aid and medication administration).
