What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an excellent and reflective classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils.
  • Has a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and effective teaching and learning.
  • Is passionate about ensuring that every child, including disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND, is able to succeed.
  • Can lead, motivate and support colleagues to continually improve practice.
  • Can use assessment and pupil outcomes effectively to identify priorities and drive improvement.
  • Is committed to developing a consistent approach to teaching, learning and curriculum delivery across KS2.
  • Is enthusiastic, positive and willing to contribute fully to the wider life of the school.
  • Will support and promote the Christian ethos and values of our Church of England school.

As KS2 Lead, you will:

  • Provide leadership and support for colleagues across KS2.
  • Monitor the quality of teaching, learning and pupil outcomes within the key stage.
  • Support curriculum development and ensure consistency and progression across KS2.
  • Work with teachers to identify pupils who require additional support or challenge and ensure appropriate provision is in place.
  • Contribute to school improvement planning and the evaluation of the school's priorities.
  • Work closely with the Headteacher and leadership team to continue to raise standards.
  • Help create a positive, ambitious culture where pupils and staff can thrive.

Tankersley St Peter’s Church of England Primary School is seeking to appoint anenthusiastic, skilled and committed KS2 teacherwho will also take on the leadership responsibility ofKS2 Lead.

This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent classroom practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey, or for an experienced leader looking to make a real difference within a supportive and ambitious school.

The successful candidate will teach within Key Stage 2 and, asKS2 Lead, will work alongside the Headteacher and wider leadership team to support high-quality teaching, learning and outcomes across the key stage.
