What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for someone with:

  • Level 3 NVQ Teaching Assistant qualification is essential
  • Willing to undertake job related training
  • Experience working with young people is essential
  • Experience and a genuine desire to become part of a committed team and a role model to students
  • Theory and practice of effective teaching and learning in Primary
  • Implemented strategies to maximise progress and achievement for all children
  • Ability to assess the needs of individual students and accurately record and report their progress
  • Ability to manage groups of children and cope with challenging behaviour.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Time management and the ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels within our business
  • Ability to work under pressure and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
  • Enjoys working as part of a team
  • Ability to deal consistently with a wide range of people i.e. students, teachers and support staff
  • Demonstrates initiative and common sense.

Further details about the role

We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dedicated and hardworking Pastoral/Behaviour Lead to join our team at Kineton Green Primary School for a maternity cover.

The successful applicant will provide support to pupils and families who are experiencing challenging situations/circumstances that are having an impact on family and school life. They will be working alongside school staff to offer support and signpost families to appropriate services, improving access to specialist services. They will be trained as a Deputy DSL and appropriately act upon any safeguarding issues, reporting to the school DSL. The successful applicant will also support the school attendance lead. This will involve analysing attendance, investigating pupil absences and attending any meetings with parents and carers. They will also be part of the Inclusion Team and attend regular inclusion meetings to discuss vulnerable pupils/families.

Kineton Green Primary School is a one form entry school in Solihull. We are a good school (Ofsted January 2020) and we have recently joined the Summit Learning Trust.
