What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Primary Teacher specialising in Special Educational Needs (SEND). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a committed and inclusive team within an ambitious all-through academy.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting pupils with high levels of SEND need, including those with EHCPs. You will work closely with the SENDCo to establish and manage a nurturing, inclusive learning environment and lead the planning and delivery of targeted interventions. A key aspect of this role will also be supporting classroom teachers in developing their inclusive practice across the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver effective teaching and interventions for pupils with complex SEN.
  • Establish and manage a nurturing Hub environment to meet a range of social, emotional and learning needs.
  • Provide expert guidance to colleagues on inclusive teaching practices.
  • Lead and contribute to EHCP reviews, progress reporting, and individual support planning.
  • Create a supportive classroom culture that fosters emotional regulation, independence, and resilience.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with families, external agencies and the wider community.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking an individual who is:

  • A qualified teacher with experience of teaching children with a range of SEND, particularly SEMH, SPLD, MLD and ASD.
  • Committed to inclusive education and passionate about supporting every pupil to reach their potential.
  • Skilled in adapting the curriculum to individual needs and using assessment to inform planning.
  • Confident in using ICT for both teaching and administration purposes.
  • A team player with a collaborative and compassionate approach to working with colleagues, children and families.
