Receptionist/Office Assistant job summary

We are looking for an organised, friendly, and proactive individual to join our vibrant and fast-paced school office. This is an exciting opportunity to become an essential part of our school community and support the smooth running of daily operations. As a key member of our front-office team, you will be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors. You will provide high-quality administrative support across a wide range of tasks, ensuring the office runs efficiently and professionally at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Welcoming parents, pupils, visitors, and contractors

Responding to telephone, email, and in-person enquiries

Maintaining pupil records and supporting attendance procedures

Providing administrative support to senior leaders and teaching staff

Managing office supplies, filing systems, and general administration

Assisting with school communications, newsletters, and correspondence

Supporting admissions, events, and day-to-day school operations

We are looking for someone who is:

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

Warm, approachable, and able to remain calm under pressure

A strong communicator with a positive, “can-do” attitude

Confident using IT systems (training provided where needed)

Experienced in administration (school experience is an advantage but not essential)
