School Staff Instructor - Combined Cadet Force job summary

This role will be based across both Callerton Academy and North Gosforth Academy.

North Gosforth Academy and Callerton Academy are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic School Staff Instructor to support the development and delivery of our Combined Cadet Force (CCF)

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to two schools that are proud to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, enabling every student to succeed and equipping them with the skills needed to navigate the challenges of adult life. Alongside academic achievement, we place strong emphasis on developing respectful, resilient young people who make positive contributions to their communities. 

The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing and promoting the CCF across both schools, acting as the main point of contact for cadets. Working closely with the Contingent Commander, the post holder will provide logistical and organisational support for the unit, helping to plan and deliver an engaging training programme, as well as supporting exercises and residential camps throughout the year. 

Key Responsibilities 

The successful candidate will be expected to: 

  • Communicate the schools’ vision and actively promote their values and ethos 
  • Lead by example, demonstrating strong personal values and a clear moral purpose 
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all members of the school community 
  • Work effectively with the Contingent Commander to develop a vibrant, high-quality CCF provision 
  • Contribute fully to the wider life of both schools
