Safeguarding and Welfare Manager job summary

We are seeking a Safeguarding and Welfare Manager to join our dedicated team at Callerton Academy, where every decision we make is rooted in the safety, wellbeing, and success of our students.

This is a rewarding and impactful role at the heart of our academy, where you will play a leading part in safeguarding, supporting vulnerable students, and working closely with families and external agencies to help every child thrive.

As our Safeguarding and Welfare Manager, you will be a key figure in ensuring robust safeguarding practices across the academy. You will coordinate referrals, lead on multi-agency working, and provide direct support to students and families where it matters most.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking an experienced and resilient professional who is passionate about safeguarding and making a genuine difference in young people’s lives.

You will have:

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Experience working with young people in education, social care, or a related setting
  • A proven ability to manage complex safeguarding cases and multi-agency work
  • Excellent communication, record-keeping, and report-writing skills
  • Confidence to challenge and advocate where necessary
  • You will be:
