What skills and experience we're looking for

Tuxford Academy has an opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated Science Technician to join our dynamic, talented and supportive technician team as soon as possible. This role is fixed term for one year, part-time, 25 hours per week, term time only role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical and practical support to the Science department, assisting teaching staff and supporting students to ensure effective and safe learning experiences. This includes preparing, setting up, and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials for lessons, as well as ensuring that all resources are organised, accessible, and fit for purpose.

The role also involves maintaining accurate records, managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring that health and safety regulations are strictly followed at all times. The appointed candidate will be expected to support practical lessons when required, clean and store equipment appropriately, and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the department. As this is a busy and varied role, strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks are essential.
