What skills and experience we're looking for

Elloughton Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reflective and highly motivated Nursery Teacher to join our dedicated and aspirational Early Years team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly valued Nursery provision where communication, curiosity, creativity and strong relationships are at the heart of learning. Our Nursery is often a child’s first experience of school life and we pride ourselves on creating a warm, nurturing and inspiring environment where every child feels safe, valued and supported to thrive.

We are looking for a skilled Early Years practitioner who understands the importance of creating strong foundations for future learning through purposeful play, meaningful interactions and high-quality early years practice.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced and highly supportive Early Years practitioners within our well-established Nursery provision.

We are looking for a practitioner who:

  • Has a genuine passion for Early Years education and child development.
  • Understands the EYFS Framework and the importance of the Characteristics of Effective Learning.
  • Creates engaging, enabling and communication-rich learning environments.
  • Values curiosity, creativity, exploration and child-led learning.
  • Understands the importance of high-quality adult interaction and sustained shared thinking.
  • Has high expectations for all children.
  • Builds warm, positive and professional relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Can create inspiring indoor and outdoor learning opportunities that promote independence and exploration.
  • Is reflective, proactive and committed to continual professional development.
  • Thrives as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
