What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for two proactive and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistants to join our team.

Reedley Community Primary School is a two-form entry maintained primary school located on the edge of Burnley, Lancashire. Our school has a diverse and inclusive ethos, with a supportive community, where every child can thrive.

We have the flexibility to place the successful applicants in different phases of the school. Applicants should clearly state their relevant experience and indicate their preferred phase:

Early Reedley: Reception

Lower Reedley:Year 1 and Year 2

Middle Reedley: Year 3 and Year 4

Upper Reedley: Year 5 and Year 6

As a Teaching Assistant Level 3, your role will be to:

  • Carry out a range of interventions and support programmes such as: Colourful Semantics, phonics, pre-teach, overlearning, IEP work, reading and writing support groups, speech and language support.
  • Cover lessons for teachers as required.
  • Supervise children over lunchtime both in the dinner hall and outside on the playground
  • Provide essential emotional and social support for children, building and supporting healthy relationships.
  • Supervise children in Breakfast Club for one session each week.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Is willing to work flexibly, including supporting children within their classrooms and through targeted interventions.
  • Has experience of working with children and families within the primary phase in a mainstream school.
  • Has experience of supporting children’s interaction, behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Is resilient, reflective and committed to working effectively as part of a team.
  • Consistently has high expectations for themselves and the children they support.
  • Is committed to ensuring children are supported socially, emotionally and academically to make strong progress from their starting points.
