Learning and Teaching

  • Strategies to safeguard all pupils
  • Thorough knowledge of appropriate curriculum
  • What constitutes quality in educational provision and the characteristics of effective schools
  • Strategies for raising pupils’ achievements including more able and SEN
  • Strategies for promoting pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, including knowledge about citizenship and ethnic and

cultural diversity

  • Strategies for promoting good behaviour and discipline
  • Understanding of how to use effective assessment to inform high quality learning and teaching
  • Child centred philosophy with clear educational vision
  • Consistently good classroom management skills

Personal Qualities

  • Communication skills – the ability to make points clearly both verbally and in writing and understand the views of others
  • Good time management skills
  • The ability to form positive relationships with a wide range of groups, children, parents, staff and the wider community
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances and new ideas
  • Energy and commitment

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant experience as an effective and influential class teacher, either as a student teacher or qualified teacher
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Degree
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Further details about the role

The successful applicant will work in partnership with the Deputy Headteacher within a mixed Y5/6 class. This post is temporary, until July 2024.
