What skills and experience we're looking for
The Directors of Emmaus Catholic Multi Academy Company, supported by the Archdiocese of Birmingham, are looking to appoint an ambitious, experienced and suitably qualified practising Catholic to the exciting role of Vice Principal at this “school where pupils are happy to attend” and “staff are proud to work” (Ofsted, March 2023). This fantastic opportunity has arisen owing to the promotion of the current postholder to a Principal role in another Emmaus MAC school.
What the school offers its staff
St Mary’s Catholic Primary School is a very popular school, which following its Ofsted inspection in March 2023, was recognised as continuing to be a ‘Good’ school. Leaders set an ambitious vision for what they want pupils to achieve and show drive and determination to raise aspirations for all pupils. We have a committed staff team, a supportive and knowledgeable Local Governing Body and very strong links with our local parish.
Actual roles and responsibilities will depend on the candidate. However, we would prefer the successful candidate to have the expertise to lead on curriculum, staff development and targeted group teaching. Directors are looking for an outstanding, highly motivated practitioner, with experience of whole school improvement and able to develop the curriculum to ensure St Mary’s children reach their potential.
This is a fabulous opportunity to join the leadership team of our Multi Academy Company and contribute to our shared vision of raising standards to Outstanding in each of our schools. Strong and collaborative networking provides positive support for continuous professional development, and Directors are keen to appoint and promote effective and successful leaders to secure and sustain the future of our schools.
Further details about the role

This is to determine suitability to work with children and keep them safe. All shortlisted candidates are now subject to an on-line check and if there is anything concerning, then the shortlisted candidate will be asked to comment on it either prior to interview.
