1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEND) job summary
You will be part of a very supportive team whose successful aim is to help students reach their full potential within this forward-looking school.
The successful applicant will be working with a year 1 pupil for the remainder of this academic year. The role will also include working with small groups of pupils and carrying out all related duties. The successful candidate will have proven experience of working with young people, ideally from a primary setting. You will also have excellent communication skills with children, parents and professionals and a sound knowledge and understanding of effective teaching and learning. Having experience in working with pupils with ADHD and autism would be desirable.
To be considered for the post, you must hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) and must have experience of working with young people ideally in a primary school.
You must be an individual who has the skills to display a true passion for school life and a passion to be a positive role model to our children. You must also possess the enthusiasm and energy to inspire the children every day. You must show the ability to interact well with children and teachers alike and build trust quickly. You will be expected to help prepare the learning environments daily and ensure the appropriate learning resources are available for use by the children. You will play a key part in the assessment of children’s progress and contribute to planning teaching and learning opportunities.
